How to became an active Green citizen in the EU

Effective activity in Green politics on European level requires a wide range of different skills and competences. To achieve this we need European level education and training. Green European Foundation GEF started a project to plan European level education and training programme for Greens in 2008. Project is named "How to became an active Green citizen in the EU" and it's conducted in the name of GEF with The Finnish Green Cultural and Educational Centre ViSiO as a coordinator and six green parties from different countries as partners.

The partnership consist of Bündnis90/Die Grünen - Germany, GroenLinks - The Netherlands, Zieloni 2004 - Poland, Stranka mladih Slovenije - Slovenia, Miljöpartiet De Gröna - Sweden and Vihreät/De Gröna - Finland.

The aim of the project was to build up and give access to Education and training program for Greens at European level. To make this possible a previous working seminar was arranged in Helsinki in November 2008. During the seminar participant countries represented their best training practices. The participants also planned the content of an European level training course, which could be organized jointly with GEF.

The report contains short descriptions of the Green parties in the six EU countries and the training organisations, which are closely connected to them. There are also the conclusions and recommendations from the seminar and a presentation of the good practises used in training in Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia.
